Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a free service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. It also provides statistics and basic analytical tools for search engine optimization (SEO) and marketing purposes. The service is available to anyone with a Google account.

Before you can view information about your web site traffic, you need to setup your Google Analytics account to receive “click” data from your web site. E.g. Every time someone clicks a page on your web site, the event is transmitted to your Google Analytics account. Google then accumulates this data, and reports it to you in a more meaningful way.

After creating your account, your screen may look something like:


Fill in the necessary web site information:

In your web site administration menu, click the “Google Analytics” sub menu:



Enter the tracking ID that you copied from your Google Analytics account, then save your changes:

Congratulations! – Your web site is now configured to submit visitor data to your Google Analytics account. Visit your Google Analytics account periodically or configure weekly \ monthly reports so you can review your web site traffic.
